A message from our COVID Response Team
COVID-19 has presented a global health challenge and as a Property Management Company founded on the principals of improving people’s lives we find ourselves on the front lines of keeping people safe. In February of 2020, we began to process what a pandemic could mean to our residents, our employees, owner-partner financials, and our own operations. By mid-March, we had established two parallel priorities that would be the genesis of each new change to our policies and procedures: resident safety and employee safety. With all hands on-deck, and in partnership with many of our owners, we have constantly found ourselves at the cutting edge of responding to the pandemic, being led by 40+ easy-to-follow procedures/guidelines that have been informed by CDC guidance and in collaboration with lead industry advocates.
Our Focus on Residents
Paramount in our planning was the health and wellbeing of both current and prospective resident populations. Since February of 2020, the focus of our energies has shifted through various priorities—from food security and internet access, to rent supports, quarantine and isolation assistance, and disinfection protocols, etc. We suddenly found ourselves responding to a great diversity of complications stemming from the Coronavirus which led to our leadership team meeting daily to tackle all facets of these issues and executing on real-time adjustments to our operations and policies. Holding resident safety at the zenith of our attention is nothing new to us and we have been extremely proud of how our residents have reacted to the numerous changes designed to enhance their safety.
Our Commitment to Employees
The second of our parallel priorities throughout the Pandemic, and of equal importance, has been our staff health and wellbeing. We are lucky to be in partnership with ownership groups that share our priority of making the application of CDC guidance straightforward. To support our staff, we adjusted hours and sick leave policies, created standards for limiting infection spread, and responded to any requests for support to create both focused and broad policies. We are truly blessed to have the team that we have and we will weather this storm together as a family.
Our Gratitude to Vendors
It is impossible to run our communities and support our residents without the assistance we receive from our most cherished, third party contractor relationships. Early on in the pandemic, this enabled us to access the necessary PPE for our communities. As we progressed through the months that followed, our vendors were willing to adapt to new and improved requirements for daily wellness checks, contact tracing support, PPE, communication and key correspondence in multiple languages, as well as many other critical links in our outsourced chain of responsibilities. Throughout our 50 year history, we have enjoyed exceptional vendor relationships, the value of which were top of mind in 2020 and continue to be so as we head into 2021.

Turning the page to 2021
As leaders in the industry of Property Management we were put to the test this year and have done remarkably well despite the conditions. Together with our residents, owner partners, staff, vendors, and various other stakeholders, we were forced to evolve rapidly. The damage done to the families and lives of people across the world is immeasurable, but we take solace in our ability to assist and lead during this tremendous time of need. Whether it is bringing prospective residents through their move-in with greatly diminished exposure to infection, or assisting a resident who lost a loved one, we will continue to rise to the occasion and meet the continuum of needs while staying true to our mission to help improve people’s lives.
